Good sturdy umbrella, but smaller than expectedAug 26, 2008 I purchased this umbrella last spring, just at the end of the rainy season. It definitely a good, sturdy umbrella that won't break in the wind that folds very compactly, so I am happy with the purchase.
However, when I purchased umbrellas in the past, I never looked at the size of the umbrella, but just opened them and saw how it was. Buying this umbrella online, I was hoping for a larger than normal umbrella, but had no idea how big 43 inches is. The other reviews said it was big, but upon receiving the umbrella, it was just a regular sized umbrella. Basically, it can fit 1 person, and 2 people if you squeeze. If you are looking for a large umbrella that compacts, I think the Totes Family Jumbo umbrella they sell at Target is larger than this one, but probably not as sturdy as Gustbuster.
Best Umbrella for Windy CitiesAug 25, 2008 Best umbrella if you live in a windy city. You don't have to worry about the embarrasment of having your umbrella flip inside out!
FORGET the WIND! ! !Aug 25, 2008 This product is built to stay! Las Vegas, NV continually receives very gusty and windy days, and after countless umbrellas (mostly to shade one from the scorching rays of the summer sun) this "Gust Buster" handles everything a LV Wind can throw at it. Sturdy...well-constructed to give years of valuable service. You will not regret making this purchase.
GustBuster Metro 43-Inch Automatic Umbrella (Black) Aug 19, 2008 Nicely constructed umbrella, but I thought that it was going to be a little bigger. Good to fit one person and one person only. The handle is rather short and would be better if it had a J-handle.
Great in the Windy CityJul 25, 2008 Finally, a great umbrella that does not flip inside out even on a very blustery rainy day in Chicago. Much sturdier than the Totes version. Especially appreciated durability when pushing a loaded down stroller with one hand and trying to not get soaked in a down pour. Rain coats and ponchos are just too sweaty in the summer months.
