Fun to design and then play your courseJun 25, 2008 I bought this game a few years ago for $20 and it is still one of the best games I've ever bought. The game lets pick a part of the world you want to build a golf course, lets you design it down to the last detail and best of all you get to place the courses that you build. I never get tired of this game. Works fine with vista.
A true reviewAug 01, 2007 I'm seeing those who are bashing and those who are praising.
So I'll direct my review at both views.
Pros:
You get to build your own golf course
You can play on your creation
You can hold tournaments
"Mini" RPG (You can improve your shots)
Cons:
Can get boring fast
Catch phrases get old
You can only build 18 holes, so there is a maximum capacity
My recommendation:
It's a Tycoon game, so if you don't like them, then you won't like this one.
I gave this game a 5 star fun rating, because it is quite fun to play. Though if you aren't willing to spend the money, then don't complain about it.

Rapid loss of interestAug 22, 2006 Do yourself a favor and pass on this game. It's neither a good golf game or tycoon game. While you will initially have fun with this game the repetitiveness of it all will quickly bore you, it's just not a good game.

Great.... but falls short.Jan 01, 2005 I think SimGolf is a great game. For the people who gave this game a 1 or 2 star rating... you're just jealous. You couldn't build a better game (unless you know games). The championships that you can hold are pretty cool, but too easy, which isn't a dissapointment, but it could get in the way of some buyers. The game has good course options, such as pot bunkers, waste bunkers, and some course options you know already (if you play or watch golf). A few dissapointments... there's not enough land on the sandbox (no money-hassle) mode. You can buy land on normal mode (but only a little), and it's still not enough to give you a good course, and like some reviewers said, there's not enough buildings, which is kinda dissapointing. For golf and sim fans, buy this game! Or borrow it.
