Description:

Say Good-Bye to Doubles and Triples Forever

Every aspect of golf, from the swing to the follow-through, is a means to one deceptively simple end: to get the ball into the hole in the fewest strokes possible. The Elements of Scoring explains how paying attention to the way you play -- regardless of your level of skill -- will guarantee you fewer strokes, a better overall game, and at the end of the day, more fun.

With a practical and encouraging touch, Raymond Floyd shares his vision of what makes a scorer and shows how you can become this most dangerous of opponents.

  • Discover the ten mistakes amateurs make that pros never do
  • Learn why the 6-foot putt is the most important shot in golf
  • Play to your strengths and hide your weaknesses
  • Banish first-tee jitters and focus on the rest of your game
  • Know when bogey can be a good score

Golf is a game of mistakes: The secret to better golf lies in making fewer of them and making sure the ones you do make don?t prove too costly. With Raymond Floyd as your teacher, you are sure to shoot the lowest scores you can, day in and day out, playing the game like a true scorer.

    1Not so goodDec 21, 2008
This is really a superficial look at course management (stay within yourself, have fun, etc. Much better is Tommy Armour's A Round of Golf with Tommy Armour. And its much cheaper, too!

    5This'll get ya thinking!Dec 03, 2008
Yes, don't just concentrate on swing thoughts and mechanics. Think about what you've got to do to SCORE on the golf course.

An easy to read, thought provoking, yet very comprehensive book, to guide you through all physical and mental conditions experienced out on the course.

    5Play within yourself!Nov 15, 2008
Simply Impactful. This was an easy read, direct and too the point and fundamentally changed my game of golf and reset my thinking in other areas of life as well. Know yourself, know the shots you are capable of making, know the odds and take your shots when the odds are in your favor. A recipe for scoring well and winning on and off the course.

An excellent read on the mental, mathematical game of golf!

    5A very good readMay 03, 2008
Common sense approach to golf. Very well written. Play shots your comfortable hitting that you have practiced, recommended.
